KATHMANDU: “They are very confident,” shared Yogendra Sakya, Executive Chairman of Ace Hotels and Resorts referring to the contestants of Pashupati Paints Luxuria The Hidden Treasure Miss Nepal 2012. He was one of the judges for a judging round for the title of Miss Confidence, held at Nanglo Bakery Cafe, Dubar Marg on April 30 over the lunch. Sixteen contestants were judged based on their table etiquette, poise, personality and confidence.
Young beauties waited to interact with the judges as they dined and during the process every contestant was given scores based on the aforementioned
aspects.
Bishnu Chemjong, one of the judges expressed that she could empathise with the contestants as she was in their shoes in 2011. “You feel the pressure when you ponder which questions will be asked and how you will answer it,” she mentioned relating to the contestants. She also added that “it is through their expression and behaviour that their personality, confidence and smartness is known”.
Meanwhile, photographers Raj Bhai Suwal, Rajiv Shrestha and Mahesh Pradhan were selecting Miss Beautiful Smile and Miss Photogenic simultaneously. Analysing the photographs of the contestants, they were choosing for the best photogenic woman. Judges were also figuring out who had the best smile through the contestants’ photographs and interaction .
Shrestha stated their job as difficult, “We have to pay attention to minute details. Everyone looks beautiful but observing them through photos is
different.”
Stating about the acceptance of Miss Nepal contest in the country, Sakya sees a “lot of changes. Perspective of parents and children have changed for good. The hesitation has transformed into openness”.
After the judging session was over all the contestants visited Bal Mandir. Himalayan.
